End of Month 2 Update

Life has completely gotten in the way and I haven't updated this blog since I first started Zepbound. It has been about 2 months. I am now 11 shots in. That sounds like a lot but it's really only about 2 months since I started Zepbound. OK maybe 2.5 months.   Starting weight: 269.5 lbs  Current weight: 252 lbs Goal weight: 130 lbs I have lost almost 18 pounds since I started Zepbound! That's close to about 1.5 lbs per week. I am so stinking proud of myself and this is the lowest weight I have been at in the past 2+ years.  I will admit that my weight loss was pretty aggressive at the beginning, but now it has started to slow down. I am currently on the 5mg dose , and just took my 3rd shot of that dose 2 days ago. I was starting to notice that the 2.5mg dose started wearing off about 8 weeks in. The 5mg dose is suppressing my appetite very well without any side effects. I did have a headache and malaise the night of my first 5mg dose but it wasn't anything too ...

End of Week 2 Update!

I have officially finished my second full week on Zepbound!  My first dose was on 5/17 and my second dose was on 5/24. I will be taking my 3rd shot tonight.  So far I have lost a total of 7 pounds! My starting weight was 269.5lbs and my current weight is 262.5lbs! I suspect most of this weight loss is water weight rather than all fat, but it's exciting to see the numbers change on the scale. Next week, I hope to start incorporating some exercise into my weekly routines to help melt the fat a little faster.  Thoughts & observations so far on the 2.5mg dose of Zepbound: The main way this medication works is by suppressing appetite and reducing cravings I never thought ANYTHING could take away all the binge eating thoughts I struggled with on a daily basis for OVER TEN YEARS but starting from the day after I took my first injection, the food cravings and obsessions have disappeared...like magic My last DoorDash order/binge eating day was on 5/16/2024. This marks 1...

My First Dose of Zepbound!

This is my first post on this blog. I'm documenting this crazy journey hoping that I can look back in the upcoming weeks, months, and years and feel inspired.  To start off with, I just turned 34 years old and I've been "chubby" my whole life, but I officially crossed into the morbidly obese category sometime in the past 5-10 years in between medical school, residency, and post-graduate life. I am a physician, which makes it even crazier that I managed to become this big. Aren't we supposed to be pinnacles of good health after all? My vice is definitely binge-eating especially in times of stress and anxiety...which as a doctor comes nearly everyday.  After many failed years of diet and exercise and wasting my 20s and early 30s feeling uncomfortable in my own skin, I finally decided that it was try to look into medical management for weight loss. I really did not want to go the surgical route. Thanks to medical advancements, there are now weight loss medications ...
